  • Second album of outlandish recordings from KWC 92. Iran marks the return of the duo, composed of Swedish producer Samo DJ and Max Stenerudh, to Ron Morelli's L.I.E.S. imprint. The music was originally recorded as a soundtrack for artist Thomas Jeppe's "Compass Trouble Again" exhibition at Sazmanab Centre for Contemporary Art in Tehran, Iran. It's a haunting and somewhat dissociative experience that seems to draw direct inspiration from Jeppe's exhibition. Dance music is removed from its home environment, dissected and reanimated in a way that still manages to engage the listener. Not as aggressive as industrial or meditative as ambient music, KWC 92's Iran exists in its own liminal zone somewhere between the two. Eight tracks in all.
