Lab Overview

The Lafayette Afro Rock Band were a French and American session band that released two desirable albums in the early 70s. This is their first and was originally released in 1973 on the European label Musidisc and later in 1974 on the US label Makossa. There's a fistfull of notable tracks here including "Hihache," notably sampled by LL Cool J ("Jingling"), Biz and others, and their cover of Manu Dibango's "Soul Makossa." Others to check out: "Azeta," "M.F. Grayson" and "Nicky." 7 tracks in all.
