"The Spirit of The "G" lives on forever." Volumes have been written about Larry Levan & NYC's Paradise Garage, and how they influenced disco and club culture. It's the stuff of legend - the spectacular sound system, the incredible music, and the crowds that danced 'til noon. Paradise Garage ran for over a decade ('76 - '87) but like all good things, it had to come to an end, leaving many (either too young like me or too far away) without having had the chance to experience it first hand. Not all hope is lost, however, as these high-quality recordings from the nightlife institution's final nights have been properly pressed up on wax. This is DJ history right here, Larry Levan throwing it down all the way live on 2 turntables and a Urei 1620 (with delay effects on the reel-to-reel of course). Obviously he KILLS it - over and over and over again. This album pack compiles volumes 1-5, each disc with newly designed, silk-screened "G" covers (with different personal accounts of ex-Paradise Garage patrons printed on the back). Each side plays for about 25 minutes. Highly Recommended.
