2015's Coming Home is Leon Bridges' stellar debut. The 28-year old Texan singer-guitarist, who grew up listening to Ginuwine and Usher and was active in the indie scene, somehow looked back into the '60s and found a stunning vintage soul sound for fit a modern audience. Good Thing is the follow up album, and Bridges once again is inspired by warm, retro styles, but he explores different decades: "I want people to know I'm more than just Sixties R&B. This is everything from Nineties and Eighties R&B to country twang moments." Check out the first two tracks, "Bet Ain't Worth the Hand" & "Bad Bad News," which drip with '70s vibes, or "Beyond," a heartfelt, smooth acoustic number. "Lions" is also a standout cut, and "Forgive You" is an upbeat groover fit for the dancefloor. Last but not least, check out "You Don't Know," which is Bridges's updated version of '80s dance-funk.
