  • ANOTHER BRIAN PINYERO RECORD, ANOTHER ALIAS. For a few years now, the NYC-via-Chicago artist has been quietly ticking the boxes of house, techno, reggaeton, jungle, and now breaks & IDM with releases on Proibito, Bank & Lovers Rock. 1080p are closing out a strong year following excellent vinyl releases by DJ Zozi, Ex-Terrestrial, Minimal Violence and more, and Dreamt Takes arrives just in time to soundtrack our winter holiday session of introverted reflection. Eight-and-a-half minute opener “HV’s Sequence” is the standout with rolling time-stretched breaks punctuated by bursts of 808s and gentle ambient atmosphere that waxes and wanes. “Talk Me Down” sounds like a Zomby track marinated in purple sprite, and armchair techno purists will love the gentle IDM stylings of “Shea’s World” and “Kirgaly”. Recommended.
