  • Fact: Madlib stayed true to his promise of an album a month for a whole year with his Medicine Show series. Medicine Show: Beat Konducta in Africa, is the third installment in the series consisting of 37 instrumental hip-hop beats crafted from early 70's African rarities. I don't know how the guy does it, but he's an actual production machine right now! Like others albums baring the the Beat Konducta name, expect numerous short beat snippets and obscure samples that flow similar to a mixtape of sorts. Madlib actually enlisted the help of J Rocc on this one, and all the beats have a heavy base in out-there afrobeat, psych, garage-rock, and soul from Zambia, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Ghana, Botswana, and Ivory Coast. Two LP pic sleeve version, recommended.

    • black double vinyl pressing
