Madlib returns to his Beat Konducta series! This time around the producer gleans inspiration from the underground rock scenes of the 60s through the 80s. You get the feeling that he's been digging deep into his crates for this one. It's not really the typical vibe you get from Madlib. The beats are fresh as ever, but the samples sound somewhat otherworldly. I guess that's to be expected when you're incorporating bits and pieces from psych-rock, German krautrock, tripped out European prog and the one off electronic releases of the early 80s. There's plenty to dig into throughout the album's slew of untitled oddities. Madlib fans will not be disappointed, and everyone else should get a hefty serving of inspiration.
