That's pretty much what happened to 22 year-old singer-songwriter Maggie Williams when she debuted an early demo version of "Alaska" at Skateboard P's NYU masterclass. Pharrell got misty eyed over the joint, it went viral on the net, and the rest is history. On the strength of "Alaska," Maggie landed a label deal, a headlining tour, tons of press, and more fans than she'd ever imagined. The final version of the track is featured here on Now The Light Is Fading, along with 4 other stellar pieces that roll up modern r&b, folk, and electronica, into one.
