Debut 12" release from Magic Source on Favorite Recordings! The funk is strong on this one, as German producer Björn Wagner (of Bacao Rhythm & Steel Band and the Mighty Mocambos) leads the band on "Lovestruck" with an authentic, refined disco sound that could easily fool you into thinking it was a vintage recording when it is actually from 2016. Impressive to say the least! The original version will have no problem moving butts on the dancefloor, but this 12" is also loaded with top notch remixes in various flavors. Africaine 808's NYC No Wave Dub gives the track a dose of tripped out funk for the freaks, whlie Voilaa goes flips it with a potent afro-beat vibe, horns and all. Lastly, Favorite Recordings all-star Patchworks pumps up the disco juice for a special disco remix that mainly stays true to the OG, but with a bit of that rework magic thrown in for good measure. Quality material for sure.
