Originally released in 2011, this is 2010 Mark Kozelek in London and Stockholm while on tour for Sun Kil Moon’s Admiral Fell Promises. Extremely intimate and stipped-down, Kozelek’s virtoustic guitar playing—masterful “classical glissandos, muted flamenco”— backs up his blue-yet-soothing vocals. The tracklisting consists of highlights from the aforementioned album (“Third and Seneca,” “Bay of Skulls,” and “Church of Pines”) as well as some Red House Painters numbers (“Cruiser,” Katy Song,”). Also of note is MK’s take on Think Lizzy’s “Randolpho’s Tango,” which is exclusive to vinyl.
