Originally released in 2001, Deep In The Hole is remembered as a key desert rock release from Masters of Reality. The band takes its name from Black Sabbath's 1971 album Masters of Reality, which in turn is a record that's recognized as an influential work for the genre also referred to as stoner rock, and Chris Ross is the main musical force who records w/ a rotating roster of musicians. Deep In the Hole, the band's fourth LP, features Josh Homme, David Catching, Nick Lucero (Queens of the Stone Age, who Ross has produced for), and the likes, and it is full of dirty riffs, mellow melodies, and fuzzed-out basslines that perfectly back up Chris's infectious vocals. Highlights include: "Counting Horses," "Deep in the Hole," "Shotgun Son," "A Wish for a Fish," and "Corpus Scorpios Electrified." This is the 15th anniversary limited-edition (1016 copies only, numbered) reissue of the album, and it is pressed on 180g green vinyl. Includes 11" x 11" poster.
