Fat Possum celebrate a decade with Melody Prochet's sublime self-titled debut as Melody's Echo Chamber with a new special edition color pressing, bundled with a new album containing lost follow-up recordings that have never been released until now! Recorded with Kevin Parker who also worked on the debut, the songs contained on Unfold are much more of a true spiritual successor, compared to the radically different sound of the eventual follow-up, Bon Voyage. Both albums are packaged together in a limited bundle. Here's our original review of the self-titled debut:
Eponymous debut from Melody's Echo Chamber. Originally released in 2012, Melody's Echo Chamber found French singer/songwriter Melody Prochet and producer Kevin Parker fusing psychedelic rock and dreamy pop with a touch of retro flair. The result is immersive and intoxicating, something like a warm sonic bubble bath that seduces you in and you never want to leave. Check out "I Follow You," "Crystallized," "Bisou Magique," and "Be Proud Of Your Kids" for a taste. Fans of Tame Impala, Broadcast, Stereolab, Cocteau Twins, etc. should be all over this. Recommended.
