Melvins
Houdini (180g) Vinyl LP
Third Man Records
↳ major label debut from pioneering sludge rockers

Fifth studio album from Montesano, Washington's Melvins. Houdini was originally recorded between 1992 and 1993, and was the band's major label debut. The album may be the most well rounded introduction to the band that one can find. Sure, having the resources of a major label on their hands helped, and one could not fault the label for wanting something accessible. It was at the insistence of Kurt Cobain that the band was signed, and he pops up with some production and guitar credits on the album. While not as extreme as some of the Melvins' albums that came before, Houdini does show the full breadth of what the band was capable of. Includes the songs: "Hooch," "Lizzy," and "Honey Bucket." Thirteen tracks in all. Released by Third Man Records on 180 gram vinyl housed in a gatefold sleeve.
