Acclaimed covers album from Metallica. In 1998 the band went back the the proverbial garage and went through recording covers of many of their influences. A lot of the material came from the 1970s New Wave of British Heavy Metal. Bands like Budgie, Black Sabbath and Diamond Head all get the Metallica treatment. The song selection takes some slightly unexpected turns with cuts from Blue Oyster Cult, Lynyrd Skynyrd and even Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds getting covered. Their seminal The $5.98 E.P. - Garage Days Re-Revisited is included as well. The collection closes with an ode to legendary UK rockers, Motorhead. A must for an Metallica fan.
