Following releases on Sequencias and Photic Fields, Nick Lapien aka Metropolis makes his vinyl debut on Bliq for a stellar set of atmospheric techno and electro cuts. The title track "Solitude" kicks it off with aqueous synths that lay the foundation for a driving cut that takes it to the depths and beyond. The D5 mix keeps the vibe intact but adds jacking percussion and pumping arpeggios to ramp up intensity. On the flip, "Identify" delivers Kraftwerkian vocoders and spiraling synths to a heavy electro rhythm as "The Other Life" counter-balances the dystopian mood with free form pads and propulsive bass.
