Miami Horror waste no time letting us know what's on their mind. The Australian four piece, led by Benjamin Plant, cut right to the chase with "American Dream," the opening song on their second album. It's a song that is aimed straight at the heart of American pop. The band has moved on from the more nu disco sound of their debut, trading in the details for not so subtle pop hooks and sunny, feel good vibes. This is sugarfied pop in the best way possible; unashamed and ready to make you feel good inside and out. There are plenty of opportunities to move your feel while wondering how that smile got on your face. With "Love Like Mine" the band tries on Chromeo's shoes to great effect. Something tells me Montreal based funkateers would be proud. They offer a few come down moments to give you a break from all the partying, but sometimes you want to keep on going. All in all Miami Horror have just given you the soundtrack for your summer. Now go out and enjoy the sh**t out of it.
