Back to back heaters from Mood Hut! The Vancouver-based label has been slaying it lately with chill dance vibes for days, but this one digs deep in the vaults for a couple of damn good disco edit/re-works. Here the Mood Hut Posse hooks up a stunning edit of Gladys Knight & The Pips digger classic "It's A Better Than Good Time," transforming it into a dubbed-out groover that teases with synthy ear worms till those signature horns just take it over the top. On the flip we're treated to a bass-driven edit of Fever's "Standing In The Shadows Of Love" (a song truly deserving of an edit btw) that is a sure shot dance floor burner. From Mood Hut - "JLM and Chris Wang started the party Love Dancing in 2009 in Vancouver, BC, Canada. Love Dancing, along with Jesse Proudfoot and Chris Allen’s Good Faith, was a formative dance experience for many of us in Vancouver and an essential ingredient in the Mood Hut stew. The music on this disc dates from that period and captures some of the energy of the Love Dancing parties." Recommended.
