And how the Portland duo achieves said objective is by offering a sonic journey painted with krautrock, psychedelic underpinnings on this part two of the Occult Architecture series. According to Erik "Ripley" Johnson (of Wooden Shjips), Sanae Yamada, this volume is the "Yang" to the "Yin" of Vol. 1: "Yang means the bright side of the hill" and is associated with the male, sun, light, and the spirit of heaven." Melodic, warm, and trippy soundscapes flourish on tracks like "Sevens," "Lost in Light," and "New Dawn," and although the release is short, it offers a rewarding, meditative listen full of interesting textures.
