Lab Overview

Newly repressed and worth getting your hands on! When you think of Motor City Drum Ensemble the first thing that usually comes to mind is the Raw Cuts releases Danilo Plessow has released on his own MCDE label. However, this 12" that came out back in 2009 focuses on a completely different side of the producers output. He eschews the heavy sample based house sound in favor of analog synths and a more techy feel. "Lonely One" leads things off, a slo-mo house burner that takes its time building over the entirety of the A side. The B side might be slightly more focused on making things move as "Frontin" delivers a pulsing chord and mumbled vocal samples. Things close out with the funky "Keep Up," possibly the best cut on the record. Definitely worth copping this time around.
