"This 30th anniversary edition stands as testimony to the creative surge that drove them in this period. The album sessions yielded a clutch of material that would subsequently appear on B-sides, compilations, and split-singles. This edition includes all those tracks, and a slew of previously unreleased songs, including the entire 5-track Music Source session." - Sub Pop
Sophomore album from Grunge progenitors Mudhoney. Instead of signing to the major labels that were seeking to sign anything living in Seattle at the time, the band chose to stick to their indie roots and sign with Sub Pop. The move was the right choice for the group giving them plenty of room to breathe and grow into a well respected set. Every Good Boy Deserves Fudge (named after a music school mnemonic) is only their second full length album but already saw the band experimenting with different instrumentation compared to their peers. The album is generally viewed as one of their best from band members and fans alike, and after one listen it's easy to hear why. This is just as much Nirvana as it is Modern Lovers. Recommended.
