Nina Simone's debut album remixed! Originally released in 1958 on Bethlehem Records, Little Blue Girl was the first full length from the legendary jazz singer. Fast forward over a half a century later and DJ Maestro and friends transport the album into the new millenium with a fresh selection of reworks, edits and remixes. The Dutch DJ does a great job of retaining the jazzy essence of the originals on most of the cuts, despite styles ranging from introspective downtempo, swingin' breaks, midtempo beats, deep house, and of course, some straight ahead jazz edits. Includes contributions from Mop Mop, Renegades of Jazz, Gramophonedzie, Fab Samperi, The Reflex and Mees Dierdorp. Limited to 750 copies on double 180 gram, transparent blue vinyl.
