Live album from iconic American singer-songwriter Nina Simone. In Concert was originally recorded live at Carnegie Hall in 1964 and marked the beginning of Simone's evolution into a protest singer. The Simone penned "Mississippi Goddam" is most notable here for its forthright representation of the Civil Rights movement. "Old Jim Crow," "Pirate Jenny," and "Go Limp" contribute to the message, as well. In Concert captures powerful performances from one of the most outspoken musicians of her time. Seven tracks in all. Released by Philips on black vinyl housed in a full color replica sleeve.
