Unheard ambient zones unearthed by the good folks at Antinote. The Parisian label usually deals in realms of underground house and techno, but this release by Paki & Visnadi is something extra special. Apparently Imaginary Choreagraphy was originally released in the early 80's as a small batch of demo tapes by Italian musicians, Paki Zennaro and Gianni Visnadi. One of these incredibly rare cassettes was discovered by a friend of the label at a Parisian market and eventually made its way to the label heads for this long overdue vinyl pressing. As the title suggests, the music contained within was meant as a practice aid for dance schools, crafted with a minimalist setup of synths, drum machine, and guitar. The tracks have all aged incredibly well and sound right at home with contemporary ambient, new age releases from Music From Memory (i.e. Gaussian Curve). Check the sound on "Migration," "Parallel Waves," and "Water Light." Really beautiful stuff, especially for those that enjoy a slow lifestyle. Recommended.
