Brontosaurus was a label that came to be in spite of its surroundings. In the city of Frankfurt, where money was king and seriousness reigned supreme, three producers were able to forge their own, comical brand of dance music. Phillip Lauer, Thomas "Saap" Sabrowsky and the man formerly known as CB Funk aka The Citizen's Band, created their own playground to explore their particular brand of house. With Brontosaurus they were able to provide an outlet for the music that was coming out of their city with the occasional tongue planted firmly in cheek. Not that it was all jokes, though. The label provided some chart toppers in its brief but prolific run. Whether it was the Lauer and CB Funk house music hoax Arto Mwambe, remixes from Move D and Osborne, or Lauer's own tracks, Brontosaurus had plenty to offer. Personally my favs come from the Lauer side of things, but Exile Missile's "Sidewinder" has me moving as well. After having taken Lauer in, Munich's Permanent Vacation has gone through the Brontosaurus catalog and put together this excellent comp of the label's output. For those that missed the bus the first time around, or just can't get enough here's your chance to ride the dinosaur.
