“There's no going back. Nobody goes back the same way they came.” First-ever vinyl pressing of Robert Rich and B. Lustmord’s Stalker, a gorgeous compromise between Lustmord’s terrifying post-industrial soundscapes and Rich’s hi-tech ambiance inspired by Andrei Tarkovsky’s 1979 soviet sci-fi epic of the same name. Endlessly foggy and damp (like the film), and not too far off from the Dom Fernow’s Rainforest Spiritual Enslavement project. It’s considered by many to be the ultimate ‘dark ambient’ album; a tall order if you consider Within The Realm Of A Dying Sun by Dead Can Dance or the entire Coil discography. But the proof is in the pudding, put on the smokey “Undulating Terrain,” the psychoactive “Synergistic Perceptions” or the living, breathing “Delusion Fields” and you’ll be an instant convert. Black smokey colored double vinyl pressing limited to 500, recommended.
