Roche returns to Jamal Moss' Mathematics Recordings for his second outing for the label! Building A Place Of Surrender is filled with deep moments that touch on both house and techno. Roche's productions draw on the multi-layered approach of artists like Chicago based producer Ron Trent. Each track on the 12" stands on its own, whether it's the fractured beats of opener "Lost For All I See," or the heady ambient excursion of "Extending Peace Beyond The Stars." However, the real stunner here is the title track, a gritty and funky house cut that showcases Roche at his most refined and effective. The release closes with the incessant, tracky techno of "Therapy 4 The Modern Mind." It's a piece that helps to show the range and depth of Roche's output. Recommended.
