Hailing from London, Archie Fairhurst aka Romare delivers a smashing electronic album. The talented producer takes his name from the late Romare Bearden, who was known best for his collages. Fairhurst's art takes a similar form, as he samples from soul, funk, jazz, blues, gospel, and other genres to weave together a forward, experimental body of work, which usually sits on top of bass-influenced rhythms. From the stunning vocal sample of the opening track "Who to Love?" to the disco-funk of "All Night" or the dancefloor-minded trip that is "Who Loves You," Love Songs - Part Two is smooth, groovy, and flat out impressive, definitely one of the strongest releases of the year from Ninja Tune.
