Lab Overview

Sam Records released a slew of boogie disco hits in the late 70s. Run by Sam Weiss (and later his son Michael Weiss, who also headed the seminal 90s house label Nervous Records) the label released music from Gary's Gang, K.I.D., and Leroy Burgess' Convertion amongst others. With Sam Records Extended Play Harmless has brought together this amazing back catalog and some of today's best producers and remixers. The standout on Part 2 is Todd Terje's masterful rework of Gary’s Gang's most successful single Keep On Dancing. He takes his time and extends the introduction, with its powerful drums and bubbling synths. The percussion builds as more elements are added to the mix. From there he takes the track to uplifting territory and gives it a contemporary sound. It's a more than effective remix of an already classic track. Also included are remixes by Bonar Bradberry, Jacques Renault, and Andy Ash.
