  • I went to Body & Soul 21st anniversary at Governor's Island last year (2017), and the weather wasn't great, OVERCAST with sprinkles of rain from the ferry ride to the sorta-long walk get to the events grounds. The vibe was fine though—good warm-up selections, some dancing here and there, picnickers gathering around the outer edges… Then, as more people started arriving, one of the DJs (pretty sure it was Krivit, but could have been FK also) dropped the Spinna Mix of "Days Like This," and the moment Shaun Escoffery hit the first bridge, "here comes the suuuuuun ~~~," the sky cleared up and the sun really came out. Needless to say, it went from some dancing to everyone dancing very quickly. Haters will say it didn't happen, except, it really did happen, just like that. A deep house anthem to move bodies and uplift spirits, don't sleep on the original either.
