Sleep's stoner rock classic repressed! Released in 1992, Holy Mountain would be crucial in the development of the emerging doom metal/stoner rock genre. Sleep originally sent the album as a demo to Earache Records, who immediately signed the band and subsequently released it as-is. One listen and it is easy to hear why. Here the Nor-Cal group channels the spirit of classic Black Sabbath in a blinding cloud of marijuana smoke, with an exceedingly heavy sound that would become the stuff of legend. This would be the final recording from Sleep in its original formation, as the band would split up on future recordings. Official 2016 reissue on Earache on purple vinyl with fully remastered sound, original artwork and printed inner sleeve.
