Here D'Angelo-esque R&B minimalism is fused with rootsy blues: vibes, funky James Brown sensations, and deconstructed Dilla tendencies to make something new and refreshing. Check the sound on the album's title track and centerpiece "Blue Magic" (a nod to his Philly soul roots), "O Me O My," "Demon To The Dark," "Kimberly's Mine," and "Charging Bull" for a taste.
