Philly producer Starkey makes the jump to Ninja Tune(!) for his latest EP Open The Pod Bay Doors. Though you might know Starkey for his rowdy street bass styles, the two tracks here showcase his multi-faceted, genre-crossing production talents that have been ever-evolving and gaining acclaim since his 2005 debut. The title track "Open The Pod Bay Doors" fuses delicate textures with lush synths and futuristic melodies, with underlying hints of his bass origins. "Blood Roses" and "Rayguns" take more of a tough street bass/grime approach mixed. Housed in cool pic sleeve.
