Lab Overview

Memphis boogie grail reissued! Big up to Past Due Records (run by Jerome Derradji of Stilove4music fame) for hooking up all the funk fiends in a major way with these legit represses of Lee Moore’s meanest boogie funk productions. Easily the rarest of the bunch, this Subway mini-LP is known to fetch in the thousands when it ever surfaces (which is next to never). Originally released in 1982 on the scarce Memphis-based Score imprint, Ten Toes Up found Lee Moore teaming up with Stax musicians Michael Toles, Lester Snell, Willie Hall and members of the Isaac Hayes Movement for a set of absolutely killer boogie funk grooves. Check the sound on the infectious floor-mover "What You Do For Love," or the uptempo groover "Ten Toes Up." Attention boogie heads - you need this! Recommended.
