  • Originally issued on Amado Maita's small label (Poitou), Syncro Jazz Live was recorded live in Sao Paulo in 1982. The 6-tracker features the legendary Nestico, considered one of the best Brazilian Sax players, and his sister Lilu, a piano player and composer. Other musicians gracing the LP include Peter Wooley (bass), Vidal (sax and flute), Dagmar (trumpet) and Ronny Machado (drums). This is a welcome, quality repress as the OG trades for some dollars on vinyl marketplaces, expect amazing saxophone as well as Fender Rhodes solos in heavy modal/spiritual and bossa jazz (a la Strata-East & Black Jazz Records) contexts. Check out "Pro Cesar," a recording dedicated to pianist Cesar Carmargo Mariano, "Winter Know" and "Black Cock" (all by Lilu Aguiar), as well as "For Guzi" and "Cruzan."
