Simple, straightforward lyrics and bouncy electro-pop production fills Tessa Violet's second full-length, Bad Ideas. The topics she reflects on on the album, which she describes as "the theme of my life thus far," aren't necessarily light (falling for someone even as she knows the relationship will end badly, breakups, etc.), but Violet, who cites Lorde, Bleachers, Lily Allen, Taylor Swift, cavetown, and others as influences, masks the seriousness with her earnest approach to songwriting, and what comes forth is a fun, pleasant album. Check out "Crush," "Bad Ideas," Games," and Words Ain't Enough."

- 'lemonade' colored vinyl
