Heavy, heavy, heavy... The Budos Band are back with their fourth full length for DapTone and it's a doozy. Following 2010's III, Burnt Offering not only breaks tradition by not being called "IV", but also takes on a bold new musical direction down a darker path. The sound here not only draws from raw funk and soul, but now has an obvious metal influence that recalls early Sabbath in all the best ways. From the ominous intro of "Into The Fog," you can already tell you're in for some shit, then "Aphasia" comes and proceeds to catch wreck on your eardrums. By the time you get to "Burnt Offering" your mind has already melted from the fuzz-drenched madness. Epic is an understatement. 10 tracks pressed on limited grey smoke vinyl with gatefold sleeve.
