  • Far out sounds from The Mystic Jungle Tribe. Solaria is the debut album from the mysterious group and it literally sounds like it came from another planet. Using a treasure trove of vintage synths and drum machines (Korg, Roland, Casio, you name it) and possibly a good amount of mind-altering substances, MJT create an alien soundscape that crosses the boundaries between left field funk fusion, ambient, cosmic disco, and more. Check the vibe on the fidgety funk of "Landing On Solaria," while tracks like "Ocean FM" take you to another world completely. Also includes the hazy disco breaks of "Plastica Razionale," "Land Of Dunes," and the fusion rhythms of "Naked Sun." Hard to believe this is a contemporary release as it easily sounds truly vintage. Recommended.
