Debut studio album from Chicago's The Sea And Cake. The band's eponymous debut was originally released in 1994 and expanded on frontman Sam Prekop's work in the great, but short lived Shrimp Boat. Named after a misinterpretation of Gastr del Sol's "The C in Cake," the band fused pop, soul, and jazz with Afro-Caribbean rhythms and textures to create their distinct brand of post rock. Includes the songs: "Jacking The Ball," "Choice Blanket," and "Polio." Ten tracks in all. Released by Thrill Jockey on limited edition opaque light blue marble vinyl housed in a gatefold sleeve with a digital download.
