Compilation of singles, B-sides, album tracks, and BBC sessions from The Smiths. Louder Than Bombs was originally intended for the American market as a companion release to the UK only comp, The World Won't Listen. Despite its sprawling nature, there is a wealth of material to be explored. Hatful Of Hollow had not been released in the US at the time and much of that album is present, along with several tracks from the band's eponymous album. The main draw though are all of the singles that make up the bulk of the compilation. "Shakespeare's Sister," "Panic," "Ask," "Shoplifters of the World Unite," and "Sheila Take a Bow" are definitive Smiths and must haves for any fan. B-sides like "Unloveable," "Asleep," "Stretch Out and Wait," and "Half a Person" don't disappoint either. And the inclusion of "You Just Haven't Earned It Yet, Baby" and "Is It Really So Strange?," which are not available anywhere else make this an essential addition to any Smiths collection. Twenty-four tracks in all. Released by Sire on 180 gram double vinyl housed in a gatefold sleeve.
