  • Timmy Thomas' all-time classic back on 12"! Though it never really left, "Why Can't We Live Together" has received a kind of a resurgence recently with Drake sampling it for "Hot Line Bling." Nothing against Drizzy, but the original 1972 tune is bulletproof, and is really what makes the track. Here it is in its original full length glory, luxuriously taking up the whole A side of this 12". Apparently Thomas recorded this with a cheap Lowery home organ and built-in drum machine, proving you don't need much so long as you have soul. Your boy Late Nite Tuff Guy takes the flipside with the "No More Work" re-work that adds some big drums and the MLK speech to really push the feeling on to the dancefloor, with a message that's still as relevant as ever.

    • yellow colored 12" vinyl pressing
    • side A: full-length 12" mix
    • side B: Late Nite Tuff Guy remix
    • housed in T.K. Disco sleeve
    • music label: T.K. Disco 2020
