  • Fourth studio album from Pennsylvania's Tobacco. Sweatbox Dynasty finds Black Moth Super Rainbow frontman, Thomas Fec, further mining the psychedelic electronics of his particular strain of indie pop for a seriously disorienting affair. Fec employs distorted bleeps and vocoder mangled vocals to craft weird vignettes that are both warm and abrasive. It may not always be clear where we're going, but Fec plants familiar signposts throughout the album. For all the experimentalism and bizarro affectations there are some genuine pop songs lurking in the murky depths of Sweatbox Dynasty. You can easily get lost in songs "Wipeth Out," "Dimensional Hum," and "Human Om" but there is always some sort of hook there to guide you in the right direction. like Twelve tracks in all. Released by Ghostly International on indie exclusive "Beige-in-Clear Blue" colored vinyl with a download code.

    • digital download included
