Originally released in 1981, "This Beat Is Mine" has one of the most infectious synth hooks of all time atop of a killer groove that has 'nuff funky bass work to spare. The original 12" mix is surefire party starter produced by Gary R. Turnier (Of Gary's Gang fame) and Andre Booth (Of Northend, B.B.C.S. & A fame) and gets featured in its full length glory with instrumental and acapella versions. On the flip, Boston digger/dj/edit maestro Kon lends his magic touch for a respectful mix tuned in for modern dance floors. Also includes a special dub version of Kon's mix by Caserta. Essential cut for the boogie funk enthusiasts. Recommended.
