“It's rainy and miserable in Scotland and there are lots of angry people. In a way, that's a big part of why our music sounds the way it does.” says frontman Adam Thompson of We Were Promised Jetpacks. WWPJ was formed in Edinburg, Scotland in 2003 by Thompson and three high school friends. After winning their school’s battle of the bands competition, the band quickly honed its post-punk revival sound, developing a solid live repertoire. This “buzz” (RIP Carles) led to the release of These Four Walls in 2009 via Fat Cat Records, home to Frightened Rabbit and The Twilight Sad, two bands that WWPJ cite as influences. These Four Walls was Tracked with Ken Thomas (Cocteau Twins, David Bowie) and mixed by Grammy winner Peter Katis (The National, Interpol) with great results. This 10th anniversary edition includes 8 previously unreleased tracks, including a demo of college radio hit “Quiet Little Voices” and a cover of “Modern Leper” by Frightened Rabbit. Pressed on limited edition gold vinyl and packaged in a gatefold sleeve.
