Super deluxe repress of the original Tron Soundtrack! Originally released in 1982, Tron was groundbreaking in every aspect. From the brilliant designs courtesy of comics legend Jean Giraud aka Moebius and industrial design futurist Syd Mead, to the early CG graphics (that are still impressive to this day), Tron set the bar high for future sci-fi computer flicks to come. It's not surprising that Disney also enlisted pioneering electronic musician Wendy Carlos to write the soundtrack. Having extensive knowledge of synthesizers and previous experience composing soundtracks for A Clockwork Orange and The Shining, Carlos set the stage for the world of Tron via a mix of complex additive and phase modulation synthesis (using an analog Moog and Crumar's GDS digital synth), along with non-electronic pieces performed by the London Philharmonic Orchestra. Ya'll remember when Daft Punk tackled the Tron Legacy? Well this is the O.G. Grandaddy. 18 tracks in all including two rock tracks by Journey. Double 180g blue vinyl pressing, housed in numbered gatefold sleeve. Limited edition of 3000.
