“With this Apple appliance…” When Frank Ocean finally revealed Endless, a video album that preceded Blonde, the opening seconds captured what sounded like a bizzare iPhone ad. The Outro followed suit, but a pulsating techno beat followed the “spoken word” segment. Now we know Ocean sampled “Device Control” by German photographer Wolfgang Tillmans, and here’s the EP featuring the song as well as some choice remixes of a different song, “Make It Up As You Go Along.” Salem delivers on that witch-house tip, with Daniel Wang & J.E.E.P. adding a laid-back disco groover.
