  • Haunting interpretations of the music of Twin Peaks from San Jose's Xiu Xiu. Originally commissioned by Queensland Gallery of Modern Art for a 2015 exhibition, "David Lynch: Between Two Worlds" and performed live, the band decided to record the covers in the studio. This pairing of the music from David Lynch's uncanny and beautiful TV series with the at times challenging band is a somewhat genius idea. Xiu Xiu is able to surpass the simple nostalgia that the show's music evokes and deliver something deeper. The result is some of the most haunting work that Xiu Xiu have ever turned in. Strangely listenable, the material should appeal to a wider audience than the band's usual crowd. Twelve tracks in all. Released by Polyvinyl Record Company on white and clear vinyl housed in a gatefold sleeve with a download code.

    • white and clear colored double vinyl pressing
    • gatefold sleeve
    • digital download included
    • music label: Polyvinyl Records 2016
