Unreleased soulful funk from Chicago's Universal Togetherness Band, the university studio project of Andre Gibson and his Columbia College classmates which yielded the excellent Universal Togetherness Band LP on Numero Group a few years back. This 45 includes 2 cuts which didn't make the LP but are on the level with any of the group's most potent material. "Saturday Night" is a sureshot dancer's anthem deployed via Gibson's falsetto vocals, crunchy disco beat and a soaring guitar solo. Backed with the slightly slower but altogether funkier "More Than Enough"; recommended for anyone digging the lo-fi / private press disco funk sound.
