2014 Debut album from Cherry Glazerr, an LA-based indie punk outfit fronted by Clementine Creevy. The band's 2017 LP, Apocalipstick, features a more polished, fleshed out sound, but this first one is all about youthful melancholy filtered through reverb-ed guitar, barebones drums, and DIY garage rock vibes. Only 17 at the time of recording Haxel Princess, Creevy's cool, collected vocals instantly demand attention, and her simple but focused lyrics, sung through catchy melodies, make for a pleasant listening experience. The 10-tracker clocks in at 24 minutes, and that brevity also works in Haxel Princess's favor. Tracks to check out: "Trick or Treat Dancefloor," "Whites Not My Color This Evening," "Teenage Girl," "Cry Baby," plus the title cut. This is the 2017 reissue pressed on red translucent vinyl.
