First domestic issue of New Order's tumultuous 12" debut. Recorded and produced by Martin Hannett, This was the single that bridged Joy Division and New Order. The A Side features the more raw n' rugged early version of "Ceremony", and the flip features the original mix of "In A Lonely Place". Both versions differ from the ones found on 1987’s Substance. (The more famous Substance version is available here.) These tracks have been freshly remastered with the blessing of all members. Even Hooky! Heavyweight black vinyl in packaging that replicates the 1981 original.
- "Ceremony" is the first, 4:34 version of the single, originally released in March of 1981
- "In A Lonely Place" is the original mix, not the one with added digital handclaps
- black vinyl, packaged in a replica of the original 1981 sleeve
