Newly unearthed recordings from Chicago's Universal Togetherness Band, the university studio project of Andre Gibson and his Columbia College classmates which yielded the excellent Universal Togetherness Band LP on Numero Group a few years back. These two tracks continue in UTB's deliciously funky tradition of mixing up jazz and disco styles with impeccable musicianship and airtight funk grooves throughout. "Dreamality" starts off on cruise control with a Steve Miller-influenced vibe before stepping it up into hardcore uptempo funk. Flipside "Lucky Stars" rides a steadier disco tempo with some incredible horn work. Both tracks are ace, up there with anything we've heard from this group. Recommended.
